These Terms of Service govern your use of Soft — the Chrome extension that lets developers switch between environments in one click. By installing or using Soft, you agree to these terms.
Soft is a Chrome browser extension that enables developers to switch between configured environments — local, staging, and production — while preserving the current URL path. App configurations and notes are stored locally using Chrome's built-in storage.
Soft is available in two tiers:
Soft Free requires no account. Pro access requires a valid license key purchased through Lemon Squeezy, our payment provider. You are responsible for keeping your license key secure and for all activity associated with it.
If you believe your license key has been compromised, contact us immediately at hello@withsoft.dev and we will issue a replacement.
Pro is billed at $6/month. All payments are processed securely by Lemon Squeezy. Soft does not store or have access to your payment information.
Soft may be used for any lawful personal or commercial development work. You may share it with colleagues and recommend it freely.
The following are prohibited:
App configurations, environment URLs, and sticky notes are stored in Chrome's built-in sync storage, which is tied to your Google account — not Soft's servers. We do not have access to your configurations or notes at any time.
You retain full ownership of your data. You may export it at any time using the Team tab in Soft, and delete it permanently by removing the extension from Chrome.
We maintain Soft to remain compatible with Chrome updates, but cannot guarantee uninterrupted availability or compatibility with every website. Some sites with non-standard layouts may affect how the Soft bar renders.
We may release updates at any time to address bugs, improve performance, or maintain compatibility. Updates are delivered automatically through the Chrome Web Store.
Soft is provided "as is" without warranties of any kind, express or implied. We are not liable for any direct, indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from your use of the extension.
This includes — but is not limited to — unintended actions taken while on production environments. Soft's Danger Mode provides a visual warning and is not a technical safeguard. You remain responsible for actions taken in any environment.
Our total liability for any claims arising from these terms shall not exceed the amount paid by you to Soft in the three months preceding the claim.
We may update these terms from time to time. The date at the top of this page reflects when they were last revised. For material changes, Pro users will be notified by email. Continued use of Soft following any update constitutes acceptance of the revised terms.
Questions about these terms? We're a small team and we actually read our emails.
